All actions involving Excel spreadsheets, either for import or export, require that the Microsoft Excel application be installed on your computer.
The "Actions" menu has entries for importing and exporting a workbook. If you import a workbook, a new wallet is created and each worksheet in the workbook becomes a dataset. When you export a wallet into a new Excel workbook, each dataset becomes a new worksheet. You can use the right-click menu to copy datasets from the new wallet into an existing wallet or use drag-and-drop to move a dataset.DataWallet2 supports other file formats; in particular, there is a simple format known as "comma-separated variables" (CSV) in which each line of text is composed of data fields separated by commas. There is an icon on the toolbar that lets you export the selected dataset as a CSV file.
The "Actions" menu also allows you export and import individual datasets using the CSV format.
Using the CSV file format does not require Excel on your computer.
